Nkechi Anele
Nkechi Anele is a versatile Nigerian-Irish artist based in Naarm (Melbourne). Known for her soulful performances with Saskwatch, she has toured globally and graced major music festivals. Beyond music, Nkechi has made significant contributions to Australian culture. She co-founded The Pin, a platform exploring race, identity, and culture, hosted Roots N' All on triple j radio, and was re-elected to serving her second term on the board of directors for Music Victoria. Her talents extend to the stage, screen, and page, with notable roles in productions like Caroline, or Change and Rare Birds. In 2024, Nkechi returned to the Naarm music scene with Owelu Dreamhouse, a psychedelic, afro-cinematic soul jazz collective poised to take the festival circuit by storm in 2025.
A.L.I.E.N (Yannick Resette)
Alien, Yannick Resette, is a soul man, a lyrical thinker, a fact firmly planted in the sky musician. A South East and Inner North local, where strangers stop him in the street and friends ask him to sing for them. When he does it's about connection and finding our place. It's love and longing, it's who we are and strive to be. Sounds like black music and folk music. Alien is member of local groups, Mandarin Dreams, Acidslop & Raw Humps.
OjiAji (Ryotaro)
Having carved out his space within the scene as a deft jazz/soul guitarist and songwriter in the raw RnB three-piece Izy, OjiAji (aka Ryotaro) is finally presenting his new solo work. His debut album 'Love & Company' is a tribute to the art of being present for others, honouring the legacy of his mother's nurturing spirit, and fostering a more empathetic world. Warm, lo-fi and jazzy in nature, the album features some of Melbourne's finest instrumental musicians from acts such as Surprise Chef, Karate Boogaloo, Nikodimos and more. Eclectic in form, OjiAji's gentle and soulful voice pulls us in with catchy melodies. His colourful and idiosyncratic guitar playing are reminiscent of the leftfield, whimsical sounds of Connan Mockasin and Hether.
