Chesstivus: Introducing Winter Chess for the Rest of Us is for the rest of us. ♟️

This year we’re marking July with a cold open for the biggest, most festive chess festival in this town’s history — welcome to Chesstivus.

In the grand tradition of the Acid Chess Club, our largest ever CHILL and HECTIC tournaments will be held with 64 players each going head to head for a night full of feats of strength (over-the-board chaos), Chesstivus miracles (Triple Muzio Gambits), and the odd airing of grievances — blundered queens and missing mates.

Up for grabs we have major prizes to win from IRVINE, Runner Up, Future Days Wine, TOPIA, When Pigs Fly, Still Life Club, SPASTA, Stomping Ground, Sucker Store, Cinema Nova and more. Merch, drinks, tickets and vouchers all to play for - for our winners, Runner Up’s and third places.

As always, entry to enjoy the live music acts and spectate tournaments is free. At a new expanded venue in Collingwood Yards, this is the one to bring your crew to — a celebration for the heads and minds, competition, ritual and a special artist line-up sponsored by Leaps and Bounds Festival, Yarra City Council and PBS FM to boot.
