Led by Naarm-based career jazz saxophonist Alice Bisschops, Desmond-esque presents the music of Paul Desmond and Jim Hall. Join us for an evening of elegant cool jazz and melodic interplay, featuring arrangements of Desmond and Hall's recordings alongside original compositions. With a sophisticated ensemble sound and effortless, nimble melodies, Desmond-esque offers a dulcet listening experience. Alice will be joined by the exceptionally talented Pierre Jaquinot on guitar, James Lockwood on double bass, and Marissa Di Marzio on drumkit.

Holding sway at Wax Music Lounge’s Circadian Rhythms every Monday night for more than a year, the improvised jazz-electronica ensemble known as Astral Flex will be rounding out the evening. They’ve quickly become an exciting new addition to the Melbourne jazz and improvised music scene.

Spearheaded by Felix Meredith (trumpet/EFX) and Odyssey Zelno (drums), plus a wide variety of special guests, the ensemble swerves through hip hop, ambient, and jazz grooves—completely improvised and always fresh.
