Mapping the vast spectrum of groove music from the African diaspora
The Horn African Cafe presents a three night program bringing together contrasting live music performances featuring some of the very finest musicians of their crafts.
Spanning jazz to hip-hop, ancient to modern, simple to complex, Diversity Funk connects the dots across genres and celebrates the many faces of groove music that share near or distant ties to Africa.
Day 3 of Diversity Funk is Black Jesus Experience (BJX) return to The Horn with special guests.
This ten piece band plays an irresistibly danceable alloy of traditional Ethiopian song and 21st Century groove. Like the diverse backgrounds of its members, BJX's music reflects the multicultural vibrancy of the band's hometown, Naarm (Melbourne), Australia.
