A triple header of Naarm’s finest
Candice Lorrae is a multi-talented singer-songwriter and music producer, born in Garramilla/Darwin, raised in Boorloo/Perth, and now living in Naarm/Melbourne. She is a proud woman of Jawoyn, Torres Strait Islander, Filipino, and mixed European descent, and has established herself as a prominent figure in the music industry over the past two decades, notably recognised for her contributions with the iconic pop duo, The Merindas. This year, Candice is launching her own solo project to continue her story, passionately working on her debut album, drawing inspiration from her own life, love, and legacy. She describes her music as soulful folk-dream pop, hoping to inspire and continue the stories of her great family legacy as the second greatgranddaughter of Bett Bett—a national treasure of Australian folklore featured in We of the Never Never, The Little Black Princess, and The Girl Who Talked to the Stars.
PIRRITU's music is a gentle, honest, and melodic personal journey that entices you into the depths of sadness, love, and shimmering hope. With two album releases under his belt, The songman's work honours a cultural journey to connect back to land, language, and family with a continual thirst for deeper understanding of his people and country. Pirritu's music features folk instrumentation weaving amongst his unique vocals like the gentle wind and waters that the Ngiyampaa man sings of.
Kaytlyn Johnson is a proud up-and-coming Tasmanian First Nations artist who made waves with her first two singles, landing Spotify editorial Playlist covers, Triple J plays, and even a Rolling Stone Australia magazine appearance. Kaytlyn is set for a break-out year in Naarm, Kaytlyn will release her debut EP in 2025, pulling inspiration from Pop, Indie and Rock genres whilst keeping intricate lyrics and clever songwriting at the forefront of her sound.
