Boundary pushing live beat sets hosted by Joelistics and Dan West

BUTTONS is an on-going monthly beat night that's grown into a vital hub for Naarm's experimental and underground music scene. Founded by artists Dan West and Joelistics, BUTTONS takes place at Izakaya by Tamura, where heads come to hear live hardware sets from producers pushing the boundaries of electronic, hip hop, ambient and leftfield styles.

Since launching in 2023, BUTTONS has built a tight-knit and ever-expanding community – a space where emerging and established artists can test new ideas, collaborate, and share raw, unreleased material. It's a night that thrives on connection, experimentation and nurtures an inclusive and diverse community.

To celebrate two years of monthly events, BUTTONS are collaborating with Leaps and Bounds and assembling their dream lineup: a stacked night of live beat sets and boundary-bending performances from some of the most exciting local and international voices in electronic music. 20 minute sets from eight artists - tag team style!
Featuring performances from the likes of Beatrice Lewis (Haiku Hands), Billwill, Kat Stathis, Moyou (JPN/AU), and resident hosts Joelistics and Dan West, this anniversary edition is set to be a full-spectrum night of rhythm, texture, and live energy. Full lineup to be announced soon!
